Goldenrod is a herbaceous perennial plant with a central stem that is 2-6' tall. Several flowering stems emerge from the top of the plant in the form of a panicle bearing masses of tiny yellow flowers in compact heads. It is a welcome sight at the end of summer when most of our other flowers have stopped blooming. Although Goldenrods are commonly blamed for hay fever, their pollen is too heavy to be carried by the wind.
